Dark Rain

The rain is falling again, though it doesn't feel the same....
Dark rain, blood rain, pitch black....
Pierces my soul, pierces me whole....
Though I miss the pain, only a sense of emptiness....
Darkness permeates through....engulfing everything....
I have never liked the rain, but its all inconsequential now....
Somewhere deep down....a voice murmurs....
Darkness has finally arrived....

The CAT Fiasco 2009

It was supposed to be the most flawless exercise ever conducted on such a massive scale....instead it turned out to be an excercise crammed with glitches. The reason for which has been attributed to some virus which has affected some particular lab codes. However the important point that seem to be missed is the trials that were supposed to be conducted before the commencementof the test. All this leads to a feeling that the conducting authority took this in a very casual manner. The assurance of rescheduling is welcome, but we need to take into account the emotional suffering that the candidates has suffered. The amount of dedication and commitment that goes into the preparation for these exams is tremendous. And the effect it has when it gets cancelled. Theres a sudden sense of emptiness and concentrating again can be difficult. The choice of slots should also be looked into while rescheduling. The candidates whose test got reschedulled during sunday slots will be hurt the most if they don't get slot of their choice. Also people do have prior commitments. The IIMs should also give adequate time to students to plan their travel because of the minimal number of centres in which the tests are getting conducted this year. Hence, candidates have to come from quite a distance to give the tests which can be hazardous. All in all we have still not seen the end of CAT 2009 and the process, it seems, will be lingering on for some time more. The world's toughest exam just became the most controversial one too.
